Vintage Inspired Pinafore

I finally made a pinafore with portraits in mind. Treasured finds were added to the vintage inspired apron/pinafore. Its a Butterick pattern, size 4. I added and altered, of course. I found a bed skirt at a thrift store with this beautiful crochet lace at the bottom and knew right away this project was going to be special! The rose hangs at the bottom of the skirt/pinafore only in the front, but the lace crochet decorates both front and back.

In addition to this wonderful detail, I have sewn on a cotton doily which was found at a garage sale a while back.Vintage lace from my Mom adorns the shoulders for a delicate touch. This pinafore ties at the sides for a custom fit and the bodice facing is hand stitched all the way around from the shoulders to the waist. Made of natural cotton muslin fabric, your little darling will not only be wearing a unique piece of  clothing to cover and protect the dress underneath, but she will be wearing it in comfort!
Details will be listed in the new Etsy store. I promise to update soon!

Pretty in Pink Ladies Apron

This apron is sold! Thank you Cheryl from Ohio for your purchase! I know you will love this apron!

Who isn't pretty in pink? Remember the cloth napkins I converted into little dresses? Well, this fabric began originally as big round table cloth as part of the set. Since I usually only use table cloths when serving guests, I knew this pretty pink flowered fabric had to be converted into something someone could use more often. I just had to decide on what I wanted it to be. I LOVE this apron. The colors are so bright, and the flounce is very very light pink. I have become addicted to yoyos so this apron is finished with two, which sit right at the waist.. A one and only on this apron. You may have the pattern but I bet you don't have this Urban Boutique style apron ..Yet!

Cup Cake Party Dress

Wouldn't this look cute on your daughter at the cup cake store?

All of the fabrics just reminded me of something like that. It would actually be perfect for any time, anywhere this summer.. Bet it can't be worn without getting compliments! The tank is cut above the waist line, ( tank from Faded Glory brand) and patchwork squares gathered at the high waist make up for a long skirt. Any length would work ( probably) on a 4-5 year old child, as long as the top fits over the head. My 4 year old ( soon turning 5) modeled for me after the first tear was made. Caitlin, come back! I need a model again to show how the whole dress fits!!) Fabric "yo yo's" are sewn onto the tank in the front, which are embellished and finished with a small rose button in the middle. So precious!
Did I mention the skirt is lined as well, from the bottom hem, up to the middle of the second tear. Finally, I decided at the last minute to include the bustle, which is tied and bustled with a ribbon bow. ( you can change the ribbon if you'd like.) I am very excited about this dress, but now that I have it all finished, I must find time for my next project! :) I only have this one in this size. Price is 43.00 plus shipping.
Click the buy it now button to purchase.( At the bottom of the post)I just updated this to add the collage of my grand daughter modeling this dress. She will be turning 5 soon.. Hopefully you will get an idea of the size and length of this dress. Of course, length shouldn't matter too much, really, unless you want to purchase for a very very short 4-5 yr. old.:)
